Privately Insured Patients

Dr Jayasundera manages patients who elect to be admitted as a privately insured patient, at St John of God Hospital Murdoch.

Dr Jayasundera is a “No Gap” provider for many of the major health funds, including HBF, BUPA and Medibank Private.

He is also a BUPA ADF Health Services Contract registered provider.

A few insurance companies participate in a “known gap” scheme. Under this agreement, the health fund pays a higher proportion of your costs and your surgeon limits the gap fee to a level set by the insurance company.

These gap schemes are in respect of your surgical fees, and may not cover other hospital related expenses such as scans, blood tests and other doctors’ fees.

Depending on your level of cover, some health funds also require you to pay an excess.

Our staff can help you claim for your benefits for the surgeon’s costs, however please keep in mind that your specific policy is an agreement between you and your insurance company.
